Segesta
One of the most interesting archeological areas in Sicily,
Segesta was founded by the Elymi and the Sicanians in prehistoric
times. Of particular interest are the Greek theatre and the
Doric temple.
The Theatre, dating back to the IV-III century B.C., stands
on the top of Monte Barbaro, at an altitude of about 400 metres,
offering a fascinating view of the surroundings. The Temple
dates back to the V century B.C. and is situated in the middle
of a delightful valley enhancing its majesty.
